Public Programs

The Philadelphia Association of Jungian Analysts offers a series of programs that are designed for everyone with an interest in psyche—the general public, individuals from a wide variety of disciplines and backgrounds, and clinical practitioners who are seeking to learn more about Jungian psychology in a relaxed and informal communal setting. Our events offer the opportunity to hear from presenters on the cutting edge of Depth Psychology, both nationally and internationally. Most are widely published and have made extraordinary contributions to the field. This format includes audience dialogue to enhance its richness and community spirit.

Cornerstones of Jungian Analysis: Active Imagination
January 27, 2013 – 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Cathryn Polonchak, LICSW, is a Jungian Analyst in private practice in Shepherdstown, WV and in Silver Spring, MD. For more than thirty years she has used the active imagination technique as developed by C. G. Jung to further her own individuation process and has taught it to her analysands when deemed appropriate and potentially helpful.
Active Imagination is a technique developed by Carl Jung which sets up a working relationship between the unconscious and conscious realms – thus, quickening the individuation process and leading toward greater wholeness of the individual. In this two hour workshop we will learn the basic principles of the active imagination technique and have the opportunity to experience selected aspects of the active imagination process. This workshop will incorporate lecture, discussion and an experiential activity. No prior knowledge of Jung or other experience is necessary.
